Leaving the cinema as an impressionable 16 year old after watching Honey, I had new found aspirations of becoming a professional hip hop dancer (..cringe), and I had a new idol (at the time). She's one of the world's most beautiful women and she's wearing Qasimi.

BERNARD IS LANDING IN LONDON

Nothing quite prepared me for this one but Bernard Chandran, respected business man, father of four beautiful children and married to the effervescent Mary Lourdes will be heading to London on June 15^th.

I have set up “Google Alerts” on Bernard Chandran and thanks to nosey bloggers such as ourselves I know when he has gone out for dinner, is in a gym or climbing up mountains for charity.

Bernard has always been a charmer, someone who instantly makes you feel at home and welcome even when your not and that’s a real quality and talent by any standards.

And thanks to (and I am assuming it would be this supersized motor bike, how else does a designer get about??) the wonders of modern transport Bernard will be heading to the big smoke on June 15^th.

Whilst Bernard is over I would like to introduce him to some press if your not already in Ibiza! So please get in touch with me portia@blow.co.uk if you would like to meet Bernard, he will be over for 1 week from June 15^th and I am booking appointments now!

DREAMING OF WIRES

I Dream of Wires launched it's online store earlier this year with it's range of kitsch, kooky, body-hugging, brash, in your face summery pieces perfect for festivals - the park - or casual trips to the supermarket if you're feeling particularly brave.

Launched on the success of the boutique of the same name on Brick Lane's Cheshire Street (you know the one - the little black one that used to half-way down before Beyond Retro) the online shop combines own label designs with a selection of sourced vintage clothing by designer / stylist extraordinaire Lou Winwood and her partner Pete Voss.

Lou Winwood started out as a fashion journalist for The Guardian, The Independent and Timeout magazine, before going on to become fashion editor of Sleazenation magazine and styling shoots regularly for Nylon, Nylon Japan and 125. She has styled Amy Winehouse, The Manic Street Preachers, Girls Aloud, Ms Dynamite, and Mutya Buena amongst countless others with her eclectic, relaxed 'pop' style and worked on campaigns for Selfridges, Ladbrokes, Sonnetti and Virgin Media (sorry for the long list - this is the edited version).

Lou's unique talent for sourcing retro fabrics and turning them into something wearable has won the label numerous celebrity fans including Marina (of Marina and the Diamonds fame), Lady Gaga, and Paloma Faith.

If you're off festival-ing it this summer pick up a poncho, dungarees or a cheeky jumpsuit (or Borat suit if you're feeling particularly body-beautiful) to add a little light-heartedness to your summer wardrobe. Enjoy the summer exuberantly!

Just Deu it...

Of course it sounds biased and typical for a PR to say you love your clients but I've been lucky (touch wood) to love all their collections, Manjit Deu being one of them...



As an admirer from when he started three seasons ago, I've seen him come leaps and bounds in such a short time. His beading and embriodery in his AW10 collection is major and has already caught the eye of many a stylist.
Previously renowned for his rectangular sequins and being a massive hit with the press and celebs alike, Manjit got scooped up by Harrods (SS10 now in store).




So much more to come from this embroidery king... gotta love Manjit Deu.
