New Young Pony Club

The lovely Tahita Bulmer from New Young Pony Club popped in for the first ever Vintage Festival at Goodwood next weekend.

Coined ‘The Festival of Our Lives’, Vintage will take place 13-15 August and will combine the best of British cool from the 1940s – 1980s ranging: music, fashion, art, design and culture. Co-founded by Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway (of Red or Dead) and Lord March, Vintage at Goodwood will be a carefully curated, rather than randomly scheduled programme, which aims to pro-actively combine music and fashion alongside art and design.

CARRY ON GLAMPING

Heard of glamping? You have now. The MacMillan 'Buzzword' dictionary defines glamping as "a luxury form of camping which includes expensive equipment, high-class faiclities, luxury food and drink etc". It's glamorous-camping at the end of the day (get it? clever eh?) Having trouble picturing it? Try this -

And last but by no means least - a good yurt. You can pick one up straight off the boat from Mongolia at Yurts direct. It's the only way to glamp.

I Dream of Wires launched it's online store earlier this year with it's range of kitsch, kooky, body-hugging, brash, in your face summery pieces perfect for festivals - the park - or casual trips to the supermarket if you're feeling particularly brave.

Launched on the success of the boutique of the same name on Brick Lane's Cheshire Street (you know the one - the little black one that used to half-way down before Beyond Retro) the online shop combines own label designs with a selection of sourced vintage clothing by designer / stylist extraordinaire Lou Winwood and her partner Pete Voss.

Lou Winwood started out as a fashion journalist for The Guardian, The Independent and Timeout magazine, before going on to become fashion editor of Sleazenation magazine and styling shoots regularly for Nylon, Nylon Japan and 125. She has styled Amy Winehouse, The Manic Street Preachers, Girls Aloud, Ms Dynamite, and Mutya Buena amongst countless others with her eclectic, relaxed 'pop' style and worked on campaigns for Selfridges, Ladbrokes, Sonnetti and Virgin Media (sorry for the long list - this is the edited version).

Lou's unique talent for sourcing retro fabrics and turning them into something wearable has won the label numerous celebrity fans including Marina (of Marina and the Diamonds fame), Lady Gaga, and Paloma Faith.

If you're off festival-ing it this summer pick up a poncho, dungarees or a cheeky jumpsuit (or Borat suit if you're feeling particularly body-beautiful) to add a little light-heartedness to your summer wardrobe. Enjoy the summer exuberantly!
