Although I wasn't fortunate enough to witness the Dior show yesterday, reading about it is as good it's going to get, and the show definitely ensured Couture Fashion Week started with a bang.
John Galliano set the standards to an impossible high by creating an outstanding garden of flowers themed collection, the setting was the perfect compliment, inside a giant transparent tent cleverly emulating a greenhouse inside the gardens of the Musée Rodin. How utterly amazing...
This wonderland of a collection took floral influences to another level. Tulip shaped skirts and petal covered gowns are all boasted in an array of textures and colour. Chiffon, tulles, organza and mo-hairs move around the body imitating their floral guise.
I especially love the cellophane head pieces by Stephen Jones! Wrapped around the head like a bunch of flowers is just genius.
The finale showed magnificent ball gowns...
The front row donned the likes of Jessica Alba, Lou Doillon, Lily Cole, Anna Wintour and Blake Lively.
What a cracking start to the week.
John Galliano, we love you.
